Community

Sean actively gives back & volunteers with local community groups & organizations.

Give Back

The Mark Tiner Memorial Scholarships were established by a bond between two brothers: Mark & Sean Tiner. The brothers grew up in Laguna Beach, CA, where Mark earned the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout and was a member of the Laguna Beach Presbyterian Church.

During his sophomore year at Laguna Beach High School, Mark and his friend passed away in a nonalcoholic related automobile accident. Sean, his family and community were devastated. In an effort to keep Mark’s dream of higher education alive, Sean established various college scholarships in Mark's name to help provide finance assistance to graduating high school seniors.

Today, with the support of close help of friends, family and donors, Sean awards annual college scholarships to graduating high school seniors. Over the years, more than $35,000 in scholarships of $1,000 increments have been awarded from endowed funds to recipients of the Mark Tiner Memorial Foundation, "Big Tiny" Spirit Award and Mark Tiner Financial Needs Scholarship, a fund of The Orange County Community Foundation.
